I have contacted Galaxus Internet Support. Status: 24.11.2025. The answer:
The Zyxel AX7501 itself basically has the bridge mode function, but this is deactivated for technical reasons, i.e. you cannot currently use bridge mode with our fibre router. However, we are working on making this available in the future, but I cannot give you a time frame at the moment. You can find all information and further technical data here. https://helpcenter.abos.galaxus.ch/hc...

The Zyxel AX7501 router used with this Internet subscription generally supports the option of operating in bridge mode to deactivate the NAT function and use the device as a pure modem. This is particularly useful if you want to use your own router for IP distribution and firewall. However, the exact procedure depends on the model and should be checked in the router's operating instructions or via Zyxel support.

For the Zyxel AX7501, it is common that only the LAN1 port is active in bridge mode and access to the web interface is only possible from a device that is in the same IP subnet. You must therefore set a static IP address that matches the router subnet in order to carry out the configuration.

As the router is provided by the supplier Galaxus with the Internet subscription, it is recommended that you also contact Galaxus customer service if necessary to ensure that Bridge Mode is supported and enabled for your specific setup.

To summarise: Yes, the Zyxel AX7501 can usually be operated in Bridge Mode, but requires specific configuration and possibly support from the supplier.
