Is it possible to define the switch-on time via software? e.g. switch off at night? Thank you.

It is possible to define this via the controller, yes.
A schedule can be stored for each day. However, there is only one definition per day, so several interruptions per day are not possible.
I have the controller running on a Raspberry myself, but there are also other possibilities.
