Question about D-Link Dgs-105
Is it possible to connect 2 in series (one in the basement, one in a room with several PCs)? Is there anything that needs to be taken into account or adjusted?

The switches simply extend your slots for Ethernet cables (like a multiple plug for electricity). This must work and no settings are required.
