AVM FRITZ!Box 7490
AVM FRITZ!Box 7490
IP telephony from Swisscom is only supposed to work with the 7390, but not with its successor 7490. Can anyone confirm this?
Good day. Thank you very much for your answer. I borrowed a 7490 yesterday. Internet top! Telephone unfortunately flop! I get a buzzing tone, but when I enter a number I only get the best sign! I connected it as shown on the sign and without the filer and splitter, as this is the ONLY way it works with the Swisscom box. Unfortunately, this is not the case. On the other hand, Fritz! box cable connected to Swisscom box, telephone works perfectly. I get a dial tone and the mobile phone rings. Thank you very much for your solution. I don't use TV. What is vectoring?
I can't say anything about Swisscom.
But at Sunrise, too, people supposedly suspected problems with the 4790 until a technician confirmed to me that everything was running perfectly. Now I have installed my own 4790 box and everything is running fine. The box is faster and there are no problems with the telephone (5 handsets connected).
Still have 2 7390s lying around and don't recommend them.
I used a FB 7390 with Swisscom VOIP subscription and there were massive problems with the newly switched "vectoring". The download rate was 44 Mbps. Watching TV impossible after a few seconds a permanent freeze. Phone calls were constantly interrupted or unreachable, internet surfing was unthinkable, the website was constantly freezing or turning blank. Since the 7490 it is much better TV ok (no more freeze), telephoning tip top, surfing ok. Download rate is now stated as 55MBitps. Therefore, your question answered briefly, 7390 unsuitable with vectoring, 7490 ok. the promised 100MBitps are not achieved here either.
