In my case, the compressor constantly switches on and off in cooling mode (ambient temperature 23 degrees). The desired temperature is 21 degrees. The unit runs for 5 minutes in cooling mode, then 4 minutes in fan mode only. Does anyone have a solution or have already experienced the same thing?
The compressor only works as long as the unit thinks it needs it to cool down. 23 and 21 degrees are not exactly a big difference, especially since I assume that the meter and the air conditioner are not from the same manufacturer and therefore there might be a deviation. I would recommend a slightly lower target temperature if you want it to always be cooled with the compressor. It is also important that you set Cool and not Auto (if you have not already done so). It is best to try out all modes and target temperatures to find the one that suits you best.
I have a very similar model of the Chill Flex Pro (50m², 12000BTU/h) and the same phenomenon. But I have only had the unit for 2 weeks and the outside temperatures are not high at the moment. In the room where the unit is, however, the temperature is 26 degrees, after the unit has been running for 2 hours it is still 24 degrees, but it also switches the compressor off and on every 5 minutes. I also wonder if a thermostat is responsible here, or if the unit generally switches off and on all the time (e.g. to have good energy efficiency instead of good performance...) I'll wait for warmer seasons and how far the unit can cool down my room.
What bothered me a lot, and I wonder if others have had the same experience: The unit, or certain plastic parts, gave off an enormous plastic smell, which only improved a little after 2 weeks and many hours of operation. That is, when it was not in use, not when it was idle. Apart from the fact that I hope that these are not dangerous substances that are emitted and dispersed in the air, I wonder if this is the case with every Chill Flex Pro? Other user experiences regarding compressor switching on and off or unit odour would be interesting.
When the compressor is running, ice-cold air comes out in any case (up to 3 degrees measured), I can only share further experiences when it really becomes summer...
