Question about Google Chromecast Audio

I'm thinking of upgrading my stereo system from a Bluetooth receiver to the Chromecast Audio. I mainly use Spotify Premium and YouTube to play music. Now my question: Is the Chromecast Audio always displayed in Spotify under "available devices" or does it have to be started in some way (button press)? I want to be able to start playing music straight away and not have to switch on the Bluetooth receiver first. Greetings

Helpful answer

I also have one on my stereo system. It only has to be connected to the power supply. If you are on the same Wi-Fi as the Chromecast, it is always displayed.

I also have a Chromecast Audio, which is immediately functional and available, this is not the problem.
But what bothers me is that you still have to switch on the "stereo" separately.
I know this is not a problem with the Nexus Player & the Chromecast's, but they also use HDMI and not "just" 3.5 Jack.

Actually, it should work to just take a regular, "old" speaker from a stereo system (without power supply and all the "new" bells and whistles, give it a 3.5 jack female, plug in Chromecast audio and then the whole thing should work.

What do you think?
And does anyone have a recommendation for a simple speaker (without power supply) and with a 3.5 jack input?

From experience (in my company there is one hanging around in the wifi) it is pretty much always listed with me, so I conclude that it is switched on all the time.
