Question about Sony HT-S40R
If I connect these to the HDMI-ARC connection on the TV, do I need 1 HDMI connection only for the sound or can I also connect a Blue Ray player, for example?

Yes, you can if you connect a BlueRay to the TV. The HDMI of the BlueRay sends the sound signal to the TV and the TV then to the system. You don't need a remote control. Have a look at Ricardo and Adi882 if you are interested in the product. Greetings Adrian

if the HT-S40R is connected to your TV's HDMI ARC port, you can also connect a Blu-ray player.

I have the Sony HT-S40R on one HDMI and the DVD player on another HDMI. The signals go from the DVD player to the TV and then from there to the Sony HT-S40R.
