If I combine this Soundbar with a new Samsung TV, e.g. QE49Q60R, can I use ONE remote control or does the Soundbar switch on/off together with the TV?

I have paired the soundbar with a Samsung QE65Q80R (2019). This is via the optical cable. This switches the soundbar on and off perfectly together with the TV. I therefore never actually need the remote control for the soundbar. It would probably also work with a connection via HDMI, but I have never tested this.

Works via HDMI ARC. I only use the remote control of the TV
