According to my information, the ASUS G20CB-CH055T has only 2 memory banks. That means if you want to upgrade to 32 GB you have to buy 2 x 16 GB.

At the moment you can easily get by with 16GB for gaming.
And remember that the specs state that only 1 slot is free and 1 is occupied.
The way you describe it, there's probably only 1x 16gb bar in it and I'd supplement it with an identical model.
