I would like to have an optimal wifi signal for my garden... do I need two of these devices? That they can communicate with each other?
Q: Do I need two of these devices for this?
A: Yes - and no ... ;-)
- You can set up a wireless connection with two of these APs to operate an (additionally connected) LAN at a remote location. The things are so strong that several kilometres are possible with line-of-sight contact. I use this to establish a connection between the timing system at the edge of the pool and the competition office (where the printers etc. are located) during competitions in a swimming pool: Even through trees and bushes, one or two hundred metres is easily possible.
- Of course, you can also just use one as a pure AP. In this case, you must bear in mind that the CPE emits its signal in a strongly bundled (point-shaped) manner. You then point the AP at the receiving device. So if you have to supply a large garden around the house: Forget it.
Hello Bachijun78
For my garden, a CPE 510 is enough, the transmission power is really strong.
