I want to make the most of the fibre in my flat, but my central PC is far from my box. Is it better to buy a 20m 6a ethernet cable and do an installation, or to buy this product? What would be the significant difference? If I understand correctly I can go up to max 2.4 Gb/s with this product? Is it up or down?

Helpful answer

It is best to wire, otherwise the powerline system works well to avoid signal loss as well. But to do this you must be sure that your electrical network is the same in both rooms where you want to use the PLC. The indicated data rate is downstream. Yes, it can go up to 2.4 GB/s. :)

I connected my box (Citycable - Lausanne) to the Devolo (input router --> DEVOLO --> TV box). Unfortunately, it doesn't work perfectly. There are regularly "jerks" in the TV stream. However, I had a phase coupler installed in the electrical panel of my house. But this is not enough. It's not a problem with the flow, but rather a problem with the electrical network. I have to restart the Devolo box regularly for it to improve.
I am really disappointed with Devolo's performance for IPTV.

So, if you can, go through an Ethernet cable

Totally agree, wiring is always better. PLC will always have lower performance but can be very practical in complex room arrangements. (in houses)
