Question about FRITZ! Box 7590 DSL

I want to hang the FB (via WAN connection) behind an existing network to increase my WLAN range. The attached router is not an FB. In itself, this also works wonderfully - but when I do a speed test in the FB WLAN, only about 1/20th of the speed of the "mother router" comes through. I have already tried several cables - no difference. Is this normal? What could be the reason for this?

If it's a MacBook/iMac with Catalina, you can complain to Apple! They have old components in use! Almost nothing runs over the WLAN, my MacBook Air from 2013 is at least 5 times faster!
