Question about Apple TV 4K (2nd Gen)

I previously had a Google TV with which I could control the volume via the Google TV remote control. My Samsung TV is connected to a Sonos Playbase via optical output. Now I can no longer control the volume with the Apple TV and the remote control. Is there an option / setup that makes this possible again?

I simply connected our AppleTV via HDMI, sound works via Apple TV remote control - and TV remote control without any problems. LG
