You can connect the WeatherHub system to any number of transmitters. This starter set includes the gateway and a temperature transmitter with which you can measure the ambient temperature. To check the ground temperature, I would recommend a transmitter with a waterproof cable sensor. You can purchase this additionally (category WeatherHub) or you can purchase the starter set art. no. 6999354, which includes the gateway and a temperature transmitter with waterproof cable sensor.
