All devices, whether lamps, motion detectors or switches, must be within the range of your WLAN, otherwise the Bridge cannot control them. Since the Bridge is connected to your router via LAN anyway, this should not be a problem. If your WLAN does not reach far enough (e.g. to the garage, basement or garden), I can only recommend the fritz wlan repeater 1750e. It's easy to install and can even be used via any power socket after programming. I installed it in my house and it works great in the garage and driveway.
