I have lambskins on the floor (in front of the sofa and bed), does it drive over them/push them away or does it see them as an obstacle? my irobot 866 pushes everything around and then gets entangled in the fur at the end.
Yes, that is correct. If the fur is higher than 2.2 cm, it does not try to walk on it. The robot hardly pushes things around because it recognises them with its camera, except for paper pages on the floor, for example. But it can get caught in carpet fringes. I would take the fur away before vacuuming, e.g. put it on the sofa or bed.
I think it depends on the height of the fur. If it is higher than about 2cm, it should recognise it as an obstruction. If it is not high enough, it would recognise it as a pond to be cleaned and end up using a stronger cleaning programme for e.g. entrance ponds, which of course might not be so advantageous in your case if, as I said, the fur is not high enough.
