I have just unpacked and set up my model. And the rotor and wind noise are indeed surprisingly quiet on the lower stages (despite good wind). But it is accompanied by a very unpleasant "electronic" noise from the motor (I assume), which exceeds the wind noise by far on the lowest two levels and is especially present when the fan is pointed straight at you.

Do other customers have this too? What are your experiences? Or do I possibly have a defective unit?

The pitch of this noise is very annoying.

Unfortunately, this seems to be normal for the unit. I have therefore returned the fan. It's a pity, actually. The fan itself would be whisper-quiet.

Hello, I have this too and asked myself the same question. It's a kind of buzzing sound. I will probably declare a defect.

We haven't used the fan yet this summer, but I don't think we have anything like it. It is pleasantly quiet.
