AVM FTTH Router FRITZ!Box 5530, with AON SFP
I have had a new Sunrise fibre connection with 10 Gbit performance since last week. Question: Does the 5530 modem work instead of the Sunrise modem supplied? I get completely different information from Sunrise and third parties. Even Sunrise internally tells me something different! According to Sunrise, the old 5490 modem doesn't work with this new XGS line either (I could live with that, regardless of whether it only has 1Gbit performance). I just want a Fritzbox where I can switch the WLAN on and off manually on the device and continue to use all other Frtiz components in the house.
If you contact the manufacturer, you will certainly receive an XGS-PON or another module.
Two SFP modules are included in the scope of delivery of the FRITZ!Box 5530:
- FRITZ!SFP AON (1Gbit active)
- FRITZ!SFP GPON (1 Gbit passive)
For 10Gbit, however, the FRITZ!SFP XGS-PON is required, which must be purchased separately; an SFP module (presumably multimode) from another manufacturer may also be suitable.
- The 5530 is capable of 1x 2.5Gbit LAN, 2x 1Gbit LAN and 2.4Gbit WLAN (Wifi-6).
This means that in the best case you will receive 2.5Gbit via cable or 2.4Gbit via WLAN.

-> Since you can't reach 10Gbit with this solution, I would ask Sunrise if you can switch the connection down to 1Gbit. Then they would also save themselves the search for this ominous FRITZ!SFP XGS-PON module.
