Hello, thank you for your feedback / question. Basically, it is recommended to clean the air washer every 2 weeks, i.e. to decalcify it. Of course, this always depends on various factors such as the place of use or the water hardness. 
The discs on the George disc pack filter particles from the air - these then remain in the water tray. You can easily clean the evaporator discs and water tray in the dishwasher.
