Question about Microsoft Office Home & Student 2021
I have a licence for microsoft office home & student. Always worked smoothly with it but now that I have transferred it to my new macos 2021, word only works read only. The rest of the programmes do work. How do I fix this?
This almost always happens when Office is not (or no longer) activated.
Here's how to fix it:
- For example, open Word → top menu Word > Activate licence.
- Log in with the Microsoft account you used to purchase/activate the licence.
- If the activation does not appear: Sign out of Office completely, close all apps and sign in again.
- If necessary, uninstall and reinstall Office on your Mac (no data will be lost).
The write protection should then be removed.
