I have a DS218 and am with Salt. Their router does not allow port forwarding. I therefore have to connect via Quickconnect, which is incredibly slow. Would an upgrade to the DS723+ help? Thank you!

Salt allows port forwarding, but it requires a public IPv4 address (+10 Fr. per month). 
In the web interface, the advanced view can be selected and then the ports can be released under "Network NAT port mapping". Furthermore, a reserved IP address should be set.
