I have a Chromecast, why is Apple TV so much more expensive? Does it do the same thing? Respectively, why would it be worth switching?

Apple TV and Chromecast are both great devices for streaming content to your TV, but they differ in a few important ways.

Apple TV is a standalone device that connects to your TV and has a full operating system (tvOS). You can buy or rent movies and TV shows from the iTunes Store and stream Apple Music. It also supports AirPlay, which allows you to stream content from other Apple devices such as your iPhone or iPad to your TV.

Chromecast is a small device that plugs into an HDMI port on your TV and allows you to stream content from your smartphone, tablet or computer to your TV. However, you need a device that is compatible with Chromecast to be able to stream content. Chromecast is also usually cheaper than Apple TV.

Ultimately, it depends on your needs. If you have an Apple ecosystem and want to use Apple Music or the iTunes Store, Apple TV may be the best choice. However, if you are looking for a cheaper device to stream content from your smartphone or tablet to your TV, Chromecast might be a better option.
