I don't have an Android device - smartphone or otherwise! Does this stick work the same way on the Sony TV? Would primarily use apps like Disney+, Youtube, Netflix, etc. with it - is it suitable for that, especially now for Disney+?

This stick will certainly work with your TV. But you have to remember that it does not work autonomously, it only serves as a player, with the Chrome browser or an Android device with suitable apps you send the Chromecast the command to play something. I don't know if Disney+ can be played via the browser, but I assume it can, so it should work for you.
