I can't really get my head round the medium. There's USB, DVD or code in a box, DVD. They also have different prices. DVD is cheaper than USB, etc... Is a DVD or USB stick seriously supplied? And a licence card on paper? I actually just want to buy a version from which I can download an image file to install on Parallels Desktop on the Mac.

Yes, all these versions is a huge mess. The item you're referencing to (article number 24497695) is exactly what I bought. This is the retail version containing USB key for the installation and the paper with the code. With this version, you can reinstall windows on another computer if you decided to switch your PC, for example. With the OEM version (which is cheaper and usually goes with DVD), you can install the system only once and it becomes binded to the hardware. So this version (article number 24497695) is the best option, from my point of view.
