I bought this camera and cannot seem to get it to maintain recording once it loses wifi connection with the App in AP mode, even though it has an SD card. Is there something wrong? Surely this camera is capable of being set to record without any App or Wifi connection.

No, unfortunately the camera cannot record when it is not connected. I have thrown it in the bin. It's no good!
