You absolutely need an amplifier.

It would also be important, 
1. that you consider the impedance of the loudspeakers when choosing an amplifier. So that you can use them optimally. 
That means not less RMS power than the speakers. 
1. connection for the subwoofer? 
2. Hdmi connection available? 
3. amplifier system at least 5.1 capable?
4. Bluetooth / Airplay / network compatible?
