The wifi is protected by a password that you'll need to change and set your own.
On the other hand, it heats up a bit too much! My sim card was deformed!

The security is the same as with any other modem, the WLAN is protected by the standard WPA etc. mechanisms. I use it myself in my mobile home.

Does not serve the intended purpose. My additional SIM card from the iPad does not work with it on the laptop
