How often does the condensation water have to be drained in cooling mode?
Or is that rather seldom the case? In the instructions I only read something about "unscrewing the cover" to drain the water... and that seems a bit impractical to me.

Nothing has to be unscrewed. You have a hose connection that is freely accessible, for emptying you only have to pull out a spigot. In my experience, emptying must only be carried out very rarely, and this is also indicated on the unit.
