How do I connect the Roborock to the app? It is installed but offline and cannot connect.

For me, it hung up on the special characters in the wifi password. I saw the device on the Wi-Fi, but the app wouldn't recognise it.

I have the same problem. (device unpacked today) I see the vacuum cleaner in the APP-> vacuum cleaner has WLAN -> update worked.
But when I initialise the vacuum cleaner, the message "Device initialization failed" appears.

The Mi Home App must be installed on a smartphone or tablet. When setting it up, make sure that the app receives all the permissions it asks for (including the use of the location) - otherwise the pairing with the Roborock will not work.

Unfortunately, I found out that the robot requires an internet connection. There is no other way to connect it to the app. Even a WLAN without internet doesn't help. Maybe this will help.

The app only worked for me when I selected Taiwan as the region. Maybe this will help you.

If the Roborock is switched on and you are in its immediate vicinity with your mobile phone, you can go to "Add Device" in the app. The app should then recognise the Roborock automatically. Then you can tell the Roborock the access data for the WLAN via the app. Done.

You need the Mi Home app. In it, you connect the hoover to the wifi. That's all there is to it ^^
