Question about Urage Stream Link 4K
Hi I was using a Ikan HomeStream HDMI to USB Converter with USB Cable (Various video accessories) to play an amazon firestick on my laptops (imac circa 2012 and PC circa 2022) using OBS studio. It was all working fine tech wise but the casing came loose and it fell to pieces. I ordered this device thinking it would do fulfil the same function and the fire TV does load up but after a few seconds it dies (on the mac) there is noting on the PC. Is this the wrong device for this? Thank you Ian

Our adapter supports the copy protection method "HDCP", which is mandatory for such items in europe.
Therefore, no copy-protected content such as from the Amazon FireTV stick may be transferred to a device capable of recording.
Via USB the content could be duplicated and even edited (OBS studio).
Your previous stick probably did not meet the requirements for HDCP, so it worked (but it's not allowed ;-)).

At least one USB 3.0 port is required, and the adapter probably only supports devices with OS 10.8 or higher.
