Hi, is it possible to use the Panasonic via the XLR outputs on a stereo amplifier for pure CD playback and in parallel connect the HDMI output on the separate AV receiver for video/audio output from Bluray etc ? It's rather rare, but there is still sometimes the need to play CDs, but I don't want a separate CD player anymore, however I strictly separate stereo music enjoyment from the rest, that's why I have 2 systems....

Yes it's true - the Pana. DP-UB900 cannot read SACD - sorry.
(My Denon DCD 2500NE can, but not VHS).
Well-known sound engineers and TV technicians have confirmed to me that the Pana. is a very good device and that OPPO has been "hyped up" for marketing purposes. The result is well known!
Sincerely Magnus
PS. I have not had any DVD crashes - they run perfectly.

First of all, congratulations on your player - so they still exist, the people who don't just stream!!!
and know what CD - also SACD and 4K Ultra HD are.
And there are only a few devices in the consumer segment that have shielded XLR connectors.
And there are only a few who can do something with them - which obviously includes you or you.
So, the audio signal is present in both places - enjoy listening to your CD or SACD.
Best regards
