The Sony ZF9 Soundbar is a versatile piece of technology. It can seamlessly connect to any smart TV irrespective of its brand. It's important that the TV has an HDMI (ARC) port. In the absence of an HDMI (ARC) port, connectivity can also be established using an Optical Audio input. Most modern TVs should have one or the other outlet. Once connected, you can use the TV remote to manage the volume and muting functions. Other settings and functions can only be managed via the remote made available with the soundbar.

Hello,
You can use this soundbar (or any soundbar in general) with any TV brand. You will take advantage of all its functionalities.
The only small advantage to have a Sony TV with this soundbar is the BraviaSync function which allows to control both devices with just one remote (usually the TV remote). You might still be able to control the soundbar with your Philips TV remote but it will likely be limited to power on/off and volume.
