There it also says in the comments that it works with the DS218+.

But somehow it didn't work for me. I found it strange that my RAM came in a plastic case with a Digitec quality control seal.

Does anyone have any ideas what else I could do? The RAM should actually be recognised automatically, shouldn't it?

Strange. I have installed the same bolt. It is also recognised automatically. In my case, 10GB Ram is displayed. Possibly your bar is defective or you have not inserted it correctly. Which RAM slot did you use? There is an extra empty slot plus the one in which 2GB are already installed.
