Does this router support mesh and do you have to activate it beforehand or does Fritz do it automatically?
automatically? I would like to buy 2 AVM FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 1750E for this and that they together make a mesh WLAN (means for me, the devices know each other and thus the most efficient way, transmission rate).

Jo, thanks for the insinuation of being comfortable.... I found on google that it supposedly works. But there is nothing about it in the official data sheet... I also didn't find anything in the router menu... Until I found out later that mesh works from a certain fw version and that my router was under it. Well, after the latest fw upgrade I now have the new menu entry...

Just start google and enter Fritzbox 7490 mesh and you will find all the information. It's really convenient to just ask a question and not have to search for it yourself.
