Question about TP-Link Re450
Hello, would this work with : Huawei E5885LS-93A cellular router, gateway and modem Cellular wireless network equipment? The commune where I live is not well served, the antis are old and I had to put it outside to get better reception inside my flat. Unfortunately, the wifi is often cut off. The RE450 is compatible with the Huawei E5885LS-93A. The repeater can connect to any WiFi router or access point, including your Huawei modem router, via WiFi or the Gigabit Ethernet port.
However, I should point out that the RE450 amplifies the existing WiFi signal, it cannot improve the cellular reception of your modem. If your Huawei E5885LS-93A has poor 4G reception, the repeater won't solve the problem at source. On the other hand, once the modem has a connection, the RE450 can effectively extend WiFi coverage in your flat thanks to its 3 external antennas and combined speeds of up to 1750 Mbps.
To optimise your installation, you could place the Huawei modem near a window (as you already do) and position the RE450 halfway between the modem and the areas where you have WiFi outages. The repeater has an indicator light that will tell you if the positioning is optimal.
