Hello together In my flat, 1 floor, approx. 140m2, I keep having problems with my WLAN. First I ran the WIFI via the standard Sunrise router, but then I had no reception on the balcony and the Sonos on the balcony no longer worked. Now I've tried a DLINK mesh system, which promises signal for over 420m2 but I'm always struggling with interruptions. I am not a network professional at all, but I know a bit about it. Do you think this router is enough for a 140m2 flat? The router would be placed in the middle of the flat in the reduit, but of course it has to go through walls. Thanks in advance!

Helpful answer

In my house, the router is almost on the far left. The balcony is on the far right. Distance approx. 10m-12m. I still have reception outside on the balcony with the door closed. I'm aware that it's 5Ghz (less far than 2.4Ghz). But the reception is not outstanding. Nevertheless, Speedtest brings me 50-80Mbit/s. So more than enough. If you set it to 2.4Ghz, it will probably reach even further. So if you place it in the middle of the room and then no more than 10m away in all directions, then the reception will certainly be enough. My network cameras outside are all running and are 12m away.

I have the UPC router on the upper floor and kept having problems with WLAN reception in the living room and balcony (lower floor).
Then I installed the ASUS RT-AX58U on the lower floor and use it as an access point. Since then, I no longer have any problems with Wi-Fi reception on both floors.

My flat is 130 m2. The unit is placed at one corner. It reaches (weakly) to the other corner. I am otherwise very satisfied with the unit.
