Hello together I have a fairly old ReadyNAS and I'm flirting with the idea of upgrading to a QNAP. My question now: can I simply install the hard drives with my data on them in the new NAS, or how do I transfer them? Thank you, TiRohn

Helpful answer

Good evening!

As far as I know, disks are reinitialised and old data is deleted.
Good luck!

Hello TiRohn,

under this link you can check if a direct upgrade from your old
upgrade from your old NAS to a new NAS is possible: https://www.qnap.com/de-de...

If yes, you can simply move (make a backup beforehand to be on the safe side!).
If not, put new discs in the new NAS, install the new NAS, plug both into the same network and transfer the data.

I have moved the data from my old QNAP to the new QNAP via the File Station programme using remote device integration. If the old thing still works and is connected to the local network, this should be relatively easy. File Station is an integral part of the QTS user interface and is now very convenient, almost intuitive.

I don't know, but it certainly makes sense to install new data carriers
