Ubiquiti UniFi Cloud Key

Question about Ubiquiti UniFi Cloud Key

Hello together I am using a switch (US-8-150W) and three APs (UAP-AC-Pro) and operate them with the UniFi Controller software (V 6.0.45). In the settings, I can set a time period in the WLAN area where the WLAN is not available. However, this applies to the entire WLAN. I would now like to know whether there are further setting options in this direction with the Cloud Key. Specifically, I would like to know whether it is possible with the Cloud Key to deactivate an individual AP or an individual port on the switch for a certain time? In this way, I would like to "switch off" the WLAN in one area of the house and keep it available in the other areas. Thanks for the feedback and greetings C.

Helpful answer

Top and many thanks for the prompt reply, Rexonics_os!

The procedure via a USG is unfortunately too complicated for me and therefore I hope for the implementation of the FR in the Unifi Controller software soon.

Your second suggestion is really a good idea, but unfortunately not the ideal solution for my case.

I will therefore not supply the AP with power via PoE of the switch but via a Power Injector. I will then switch the Power Injector on and off via a timer. Instead of a conventional timer, I can also imagine using "My Strom" or a "Shelly" actuator. The source of the power for the AP to be switched off is in the basement, where the rest of the WLAN is also available and thus makes it possible to switch it on and off manually (except where the "switched AP" is hanging, which is the intention;-)).

Greetings C.

Salü

Short form: without great knowledge of how to access the AP via SSH, this implementation will be difficult. However, there is a feature request and it should be implemented at some point.

But if you create two SSID (WLAN) and then use the "always on" WLAN for yourself and distribute the other SSID to the other users in the house, then you can specifically switch off this WLAN via the scheduler.

I hope this helps for the short-term implementation.
