Hello together I am not at all familiar with this topic and therefore my possibly somewhat "stupid" question: If I have two LAN plugs in my room and now insert this adapter into one of the two, will my general internet performance go down? Or will only the performance of the adapter be halved, so to speak? Thanks for the clarification
Hello also
I am not a network engineer either.... but it is certainly the case that the original data capacity (speed) of the cable is halved. I have installed one adapter at the router and the other at the other end of the line, so I can still connect 2 devices on one line. I didn't have enough LAN cable connections, so I "doubled" one of them, so to speak. I installed it because I still have enough speed for the printer/fax and it is much easier than pulling a new cable through the walls.
I hope I have made myself clear ;-) Greetings, Mika
Hello
Finally, the performance is still 100MBit/s per connection. These adapters then turn one cable into 2 connections. Depending on the internet connection, this can be a brake.
