Hello, I have a door with a knob on the inside. If you turn the knob and insert the key at the front, it turns with it. What is the situation with a Nuki - does it effectively block the knob or does it turn when you open it mechanically or, for example, when the battery is flat?

No, it does not block. You can also open it mechanically with the key.
Knob is removed, don't forget to order the adapter
