TP-Link M7350 Mobile 4G/LTE WLAN router
Hello, I bought this router, unfortunately it does not work. It says `No SIM Card`, but there is one in it that works in my phone. Is the device broken, or can there be other fu...?
Hello,
Some updates after a few months usage:
1) Make sure you inserted the SIM adapter in the correct orientation, which is OPPOSITE than what most people would expect.
The adapter must be placed upside-down (with the SIM card chip still facing the pin connectors, of course...).
I have two friends who own this device and complained on SIM card missing for that exact same reason...
2) If you are positioning it correctly, and it still doesn't work, and you switched to a different SIM card, reset the device (advanced -> device -> factory reset). Several messages on forums recommend this, it worked once for me after I switched the SIM card while abroad.
hope it helps.
Good day,
I had the same problem. After a few attempts and several resets, I came across a notice on the TP-Link website that there had been some firmware updates in the near past that "optimised" compatibility with different SIM cards. And lo and behold: after installing the latest version, the device immediately accepted my card - and also now transmits with 4G - where previously it could only receive 3G in the same location. Here is the link to the firmware download:

Best regards

Just received this device today. Tried with three different sim cards, each working perfectly in other tablets and Huawei modems, the device keeps showing "no sim card".
As reading the comments, it seems to be a frequent issue, so better return it to Digitec and stop buying from tp-link until they test their units.
I have the same problem: after changing the SIM card, "No SIM Card" is displayed, no matter how often I restart it.
It helped me to open the back flap when it was switched on with the unrecognised card inside and hold down the reset button. Then all the settings are gone, but at least the card was recognised. Quite annoying.
The question is already very old... but in case someone should still stumble upon it:
The sim cards of the usual Sunrise subscriptions can NOT be used in sim routers.
How do you install the firmware if the SIM card is not recognised? Is it also possible without SIM via the APP (which does not find a connection to the router (because the SIM card is missing?) ?

P.s. I use a Sunrise SIM
Yes, the SIM was inserted correctly, according to instructions, in the right direction, repeated (as described in the instructions if this problem should occur), also a second one, nothing to do. But both work in my phone.
Is the SIM inserted correctly (gold-coloured contacts in the right direction), perhaps insert another SIM card to test?
Following the instructions?
