Zyxel XGS-PON Bridge PM7300
Zyxel XGS-PON Bridge PM7300
Hello everyone I received the PM3700-t0 from a colleague and wanted to activate it with the WINGO Internet. I removed the IB3 and connected the Zyxel. Unfortunately, I only got a 100.95.x.x from (presumably) the carrier-grade NAT. I did not get the "correct" IPv4 from WINGO. Questions: - I have installed the IB3, 3 days later with the same activation code the PM3700. Do I need a separate activation code for the new modem? same problem with Zyxel AX7501-B0 by the way - On the Wingo website it says that ONLY the Zyxel AX7501-B0 is accepted as an alternative modem. Does PM3700-T0 really work with WINGO? - How can I register the PM3700-T0 or the AX7501-B0 with WINGO? Many thanks for your help Paedy
Hello, I got the same setup working a few days ago. I also use Wingo Internet with the PM7300 modem and my own firewall (Forcepoint). As you have already realised, you receive a CGNAT IP from the provider (in this case Swisscom).
DHCP option 60 is not necessary with Wingo, only VLAN 10 must be configured on your desired gateway.
Now for the exciting part: If your DNS settings are correct, you will see the provider's splash page. You will need to re-register your connection there. You cannot use the code you have already used again. You have to call support and request a new code.
Unfortunately, this was a bit of a hassle for me as the support team didn't want to know anything about it at first. It was only after a lengthy discussion that my request was passed on to second-level support, and I only received the new code by email around two weeks later.
With this new code, you can activate the connection via the PM7300 and your router/firewall.
Important: You usually have to re-register with a non-Wingo router. The codes are one-time-use only.
Please also note that the line needs some time after activation until all measurements have been completed. During this phase, the speed can fluctuate greatly, so just be patient.
Greetings!
Hello.
I have got the PM7300 working for Teleboy. I use a Unifi Cloud Gateway behind it as a firewall.
Since you don't provide any information about the firewall, I can probably only help to a limited extent. As far as I know, a Layer 3-capable device is required behind the PM7300. Like Wingo, Teleboy uses Swisscom as its carrier, so I assume that it works there too.
I have configured the PM7300 as follows:
- Bridge mode
- No further settings. So no vLAN 10 and no dhcp option 60
I have made the following settings on the Cloud Gateway
- Set the Internet interface to vLAN 10
- I have tried with and without dhcp option 60. That made no difference to me.
I still have some information:
1. for the first activation of the connection, I manually entered a Swisscom DNS server (195.186.4.162) on my computer (from which I did the activation). It worked with that
2. we moved house at the time of the change and a new connection was activated. However, I did not have to enter an activation code
3. Swisscom defines the appropriate firmware version for the PM7300 in its Compatibility List. Details here: https://www.swisscom.ch/content...
I hope I could help.
Best regards
Hans-Peter
Hello,
Have you specified the dhcp 60 option with the value P.Ex. "100008,0001,ZYXEL"?
In addition, you need to specify id 10 for the WAN interface vlan.
Finally, you need to register on https://www.swisscom.ch/register (I don't know if this works for Wingo).
Best regards.
Sorry, of course PM7300-T0
