Hello everyone. Where have you mounted the rear speakers? At what height? And can they also be placed in the corner in smaller spaces? Unfortunately, I can't place the speakers behind me as recommended because the sofa is against the wall.
What about the subwoofer, can it be placed between the sofa and the wall or on which side should there be some free space? Thank you very much.
The rear speakers should ideally be positioned at a height of approx. 80 cm to max. 1 metre. In any case, no higher, as the sounds are also emitted on the upper side of the rear speakers! Furthermore, when positioning the speakers, make sure that the preferred listening position is in the middle between the two rear speakers! The positioning of the subwoofer is less important, because low tones (bass tones) cannot be located by the human ear! 20 cm should be left free on the right side of the subwoofer, because that is where the bass tone speaker is located! You should also make sure that there are no thick curtains on the subwoofer side, i.e. on the right, as these swallow sounds! I hope that I have contributed to a gigantic and unclouded listening pleasure with this information.
Installing the rear speakers directly above the sofa is also possible; in the cinema there are also speakers directly above the last row of seats. The calibration system corrects this so that you still get the best possible spatial sound. Placing them in the corners is of course also possible, but rear surround speakers should be placed behind the seating position, as they are not edge surround speakers. The location of the subwoofer is less problematic, but it should be placed in such a way that you can hear it to the maximum at the listening position. You have to experiment a little, because it is possible to perceive the low bass impression of a subwoofer more or less strongly at the listening position, depending on where it is placed.
