Hello everyone. I would like to replace my stereo speakers with a soundbar. Atmos will hardly work for me due to the sloping roof. But what is the sound like without Atmos? Is it worth buying or can you switch to a cheaper soundbar in this case? Does anyone also have a sloping roof and experience? Many thanks.
Hello Mike
You can usually only get proper AMBEO sound in the original English version anyway, if at all. I also have a sloping ceiling on the left-hand side and an open room on the right. You absolutely never hear any sound coming from the ceiling, nor do you hear any virtual speakers. Apart from that, the system has a lot of juice and it rumbles quite nicely when you watch an action film. The Ambeo setting is really just something similar to a loudness button. I wouldn't buy the system again, half the money is enough. Mine is about 3 months old. If you want it, I'll give it to you for CHF 850 (975) ... gasserdieter@gmail.com
By the way: The sound is otherwise very good, you can even understand the Tatort dialogues, even Bavarian is easy to understand :)
I bought the Sennheiser soundbar to improve the sound quality of the TV set, as the ultra-flat TV sets are rather modest in terms of speakers. I first had a noname soundbar, cheapest edition, promotion 150.00. The sound quality is only very slightly better with this than directly from the TV.
The purchase of Sennheiser was worth it for me, very good sound for music and clear sound for speech. However, the best effect is only achieved with the respective programme.
The setup is described in the instructions as being more complicated than it is in reality.
The Sennheiser soundbar is the best thing that could have happened to me. We previously had the Revox soundbar and the sound of the Sennheiser is worlds better than the Revox.
I can't say whether it works as well with sloping ceilings, as we don't have any.
