Hello everyone, I have received an older model from a friend for testing. This is only supported up to 500MBits and is already a bit older +5 years. As the connection goes from the ground floor to the basement in one block, only 17 MBits get through with the old module with a 1000 MBits connection. Can we assume that the same bandwidth will get through with a new one or has something changed in the technology and it will be more? I don't necessarily want to buy something if it is to be expected that no more throughput can be achieved. Thanks for the help

Hello, I bought this PLC some time ago. It was installed upstairs, with the router on the ground floor with the source PLC. I have to admit that I was disappointed by the speed provided, which was nothing like that advertised. So much so that I'm no longer using it and have turned to a Wifi repeater.

There is no clear answer to that. Yes, a lot has happened technically that could improve performance. However, this could also be due to older lines or copper cables that no longer allow for this, no matter how new the hardware is. An (IT-orientated) electrician might be able to shed more light on this. Otherwise, determining whether it's faster or not involves little investment. If it works, everything is good and invested correctly, if it doesn't work, the probable fault is quickly identified.
Greetings
