Hello Community I bought the Acer Predator Orion 3000 a few weeks ago and am very satisfied. The only drawback is the relatively small SSD with 1 TB. Since I mainly want to game on the PC, I need a lot of storage space. My question now is how can I expand the memory? The Maiboard has free SATA slots but no power connections because there is no modular power supply. What is the easiest and best solution for games to expand the memory with about 1-2 TB (SSD preferred). Are there other possibilities (external hard drive etc.) or what is the best option? I don't want to change the power supply for warranty reasons, of course. Many thanks for your help, also with direct product suggestions.
Two SATA cables and a power cable with double HDD/SSD power connection are included. The latter plugs into the motherboard and draws power for the hard drives from there. The motherboard also has three (free) SATA-III ports.
Thus, two additional hard disks can be installed. For installation, the case contains two slots with drawers on which both 3.5" and 2.5" drives fit.
If you have a free M.2 solt on the MB, that would be the easiest option, so you don't need an additional power supply. Otherwise, if you still have free Molex connectors on the power supply, there are Molex to SATA adapters, then you could install a 2.5'' SSD.
