Hello all. To all those who currently have an anemometer that is still working: Please secure it immediately against water ingress. With silicone or something else. The outer module is not waterproof. I had to change the batteries and found water in the housing. Despite drying over several days, the anemometer no longer works..... This is often described in the reviews.
In fact, the lack of weather resistance in outdoor modules from NETATMO after prolonged use: penetrating wetness in the case of the anemometer and UV embrittlement in the case of the rain gauge ... In the case of my replacement anemometer, it has proved successful to glue an inverted plant pot plate (made of polycarbonate) to the top of the gauge as additional rain protection using a little 'plasticine'!
