Does the router AVM FRITZ!Box 7590 AX work with UPC landline telephone - e.g. Fritz Fon C4? It works with the 7390, but it is outdated.

Hello, 
I have the same problem, FritzBox with Y cable on DSL connection (grey cable) and (grey Y cable) connected with adapter RJ45 ->RJ11 in Tel 1.
Connection settings fixed network active, phone number analogue set up (area code & phone number, 0448XXXXXX).
However, the status does not change to green, but remains grey. What am I doing wrong?

Yes, you simply need the SIP access data from UPC.
