1) I would like to install this POE injector (e.g. on a mounting plate or DIN rail) in a closed installation wall-mounted enclosure approx. 254x180x110mm (example from Rittal: https://www.rittal.com/ch-de/product/show/variantdetail.action?categoryPath=/PG0001/PG0002SCHRANK1/PG0003SCHRANK1/PG0004SCHRANK1/PRO0003SCHRANK&productID=9521050 ). -- Does this work with the waste heat if a 24VDC power supply unit (for an electric lock) is also mounted next to it on a top-hat rail?
2) Can I also use one of these 4 POE outputs for a non-POE-powered IP end device, i.e. simply as a LAN connection?)

Answer

You can use all connections without POE. 
I don't know about the waste heat either.
