Question about Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro Mobile Router
Has anyone had any experience of whether it has a VPN function? The aim is only to connect to the home network and not to a VPN provider. If so, here are some additional questions: - If the M6 Pro loses the VPN connection (if it has one), does it automatically re-establish the VPN connection or do I have to manually enter something on the screen? - Do I have to pay a fee for the VPN function (if available) or is it free forever? If I understand you correctly, you want the router to connect to the internet via 5G/4G/3G and then make a permanent VPN connection to your home network. All your requests will then go (no matter from which device connected to the router) via mobile network first via VPN to your home networker and from there uncovered to the internet.
If that is your wish: No, the device with the current firmware (05.2023) cannot do that. However, it allows you to initiate a VPN connection from your laptop / phone / tablet. The disadvantage is that you have to set up the connection from each device individually and that this (especially with mobile devices) can easily be interrupted again...
